AFC Championship

Hello hello! I’m writing this post during halftime ūüė¨ūüė¨ My previous post was reminiscing our ski trip just a couple of weeks ago in CO. Now I’m cheering on my Broncos in Columbus, OH (from the comfort of my couch). The AFC Championship always comes down to the same two teams: Patriots and Broncos. Well, LET’S GO BRONCOS!!!!!
This game surely snuck up on me, as far as preparing snacks go. I ended up just throwing a pizza in the oven and calling it a day. I figured it was better to focus on a game day outfit rather than game day food (which really only matters when it’s a super bowl party!)
This full circle skirt from New York and Company was a favorite of mine this summer and fall. The sunset orange color is the perfect transition piece from the neon summer palette to the jewel tones in the fall. During this time of year,
It help me be United In Orange with the rest of the Broncos fans out there.
My graphic tee from Junk Food clothing is a high-lo fit that’s soft and comfortable. I can wear it with leggings, jeans, or dress it up with this skirt.
These suede BCBG’s have been my second skin for the last two years. They’re at the point where they have formed to fit my feet perfectly and I never want to take them off.
Here’s to hoping the Broncos make it to the Super Bowl!! Looking forward to having two weeks to plan outfits and food for the Big Game ūüŹąūüφ

Summer Prints

Holy Moly!!¬† Is it August already?¬† I am still living in the past – back to June – where I took a week long vacation with my boyfriend and his family.¬† We vacationed at Martha’s Vineyard and it was just the escape I needed!¬† My days went something like this: Wake up with coffee on the back porch while looking at the beach, go to the beach, come home for dinner, shower, head back to the beach (with wine) to catch the sunset, back home to sleep, repeat.¬† Martha’s Vineyard is huge about outdoor showering – like, every house has a private outdoor shower.¬† It was secluded and still had a perfect view of the beach.

Another reason I like¬†the beach so much is it¬†requires no make-up!¬† Big hat, sunglasses, sunscreen ,and a bathing suit.¬† You’re all set!¬† Packing is rather easy – I think I packed one dress for a ‘nice dinner’, two outfits (hint: this is one …) to hit the towns in, three pairs of shoes….aaaand 5 bathing suits and 5 swimsuit cover ups. ¬†Just because I’m on the beach without makeup doesn’t mean I actually want to look like a bum…

This dress from New York and Company was flowy enough that I could wear it the day after eating a big lobster dinner and consuming glasses and glasses of wine. ¬†The Panama hat is a must when you’re out in the sun all day. I couldn’t resist the gladiator sandals either. They were a fun twist for this summer dress and, thankfully, I did not have a tan line at the end of the day. {That would have been awkward}

We went into Oak Bluffs this day which is the more ‘touristy’ spot among the three towns. Any souvenir you want you will find in Oak Bluffs. I purchased a shirt I had my eye on last year. To my surprise, it was half off this summer! My buyer’s remorse paid off for once!!!

15 Minutes of Fame!

Somehow, my boyfriend convinced me to play at an open mic with him last week!¬† Honestly, how can you say ‚Äúno‚ÄĚ to this guy?

Remember Rock Band?¬†I took that game seriously!¬† I was always the singer and my brother was always the drummer.¬† In real life, I‚Äôm still the singer and my boyfriend plays guitar.¬† I don‚Äôt even want to get into his collection of stringed instruments because I‚Äôd rather talk about more interesting topics ‚Ästliiikee my look for the night!

¬†We have a bluegrass/blues vibe going on so I actually thought¬†rockin’¬†a Canadian Tuxedo would be appropriate!¬†I¬†paired¬†a denim shirt¬†with a pair of jeans in similar color, slid a leopard print skinny belt around my waist, clasped my favorite gold necklace under my shirt collar, and added my cowgirl boots as a final touch.¬† I¬†pictured us¬†looking more¬†like¬†Britney and JT circa 2001. Never Forget.

After a once over in the mirror, I quickly realized that I cannot pull off double denim РEspecially if I wanted us to be taken seriously!  If you know me, then you know that leggings are always my go-to choice. Off with the jeans and on with the leggings.  Voilà!

¬†This clip is actually a song that Max and I wrote together ūüôā¬†

We performed 4 songs that night.¬† We were incredibly nervous but as soon as we hit the stage, it felt natural!¬† Want to hear more?? We’re planning a set for¬†next¬†Thursday at Woodlands’ open mic. Come out and cheer us on! We would love the support!!
