This past weekend, I attended a friends wedding! It was a tough decision whether or not we’d feel comfortable to RSVP. But, ultimately, I wanted to go be there to honor and celebrate this perfect couple. My husband and I are both fully vaccinated (three weeks now) and I imagine most people at the wedding would have one or both of their shots, too. Plus the venue was enforcing the use of masks, adhering to covid regulations, etc. In the end, I’m happy we made the decision to go. The ceremony actually happened in September, so it was just a dinner reception and we left shortly after we finished dinner.

I originally bought this one shoulder dress last summer when I thought it would the world would be back to normal by Fall. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen… aaand my dress is sold out in pink, BUT it’s available in a beautiful emerald green color! It was part of Dede (dressupbuttercup) and Emily’s (champagneandchanel) BFF Collection from Wayf x Nordstrom. I love the one shoulder and the lace! It made me feel so feminine and glam. Full disclosure, the lace kept snagging on my clutch so it began to look a little tattered at the end of the night 🙁 But for under $40, this dress would be worth wearing for an event!

Not going to lie, I saw Joelle Fletcher wearing this two tone pink dress and she looked stunning! I love these bright colors and can picture this dress for a summer event – wedding guest, bridal shower, baby shower, vacation, etc. So versatile. I think it can be dressed up with heels and statement earrings or dressed down with some casual sandals. I ended up not choosing this dress because the color palette was a little bright for a May 1 wedding. It’s not quite warm enough in Ohio. This was my first time ordering from this site and I read reviews, followed the size chart, and ordered a size 2. It’s a little tight and hope I don’t bust through the seam of the slit whenever I get a chance to wear this, lol!

Whoa! I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a dress this vibrant blue color. The midi length is so conservative so it would be a great option to wear to a wedding (I’m 5’3” for reference). The material is really nice and thick – not see through and I think it hugs in all of the right places. This really is such a steal at Nordstrom Rack! The straps aren’t adjustable and are a little long for me so I’ll need to pin those or get them shortened. Ugh, This just reminded me that the seamstress right around the corner for me retired! The old house her business was in & the two businesses next to her have all been demolished! I wonder what my city plans to do with these lots.. anyway, great for her and now I need to find a new alterations place!
What social events do you have upcoming this spring/summer?? How are you feeling about attending them? No wrong answers here, just curious what the rest of the world is doing! xoxo
